Funded PhD positions on higher education policy at University of Zagreb

As part of the Norglobal research project entiled ‘European integration in higher education and research in the Western Balkans‘ two PhD scholarships will be awarded for the Doctoral Programme in Comparative Politics at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Zagreb.

The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council and led by prof. Bjørn Stensaker from the Department of Educational Research at the University of Oslo. In addition to the University of Zagreb who hosts the PhD positions, the project involves a number of partners from the Western Balkan region.

Scholarship recipients will receive a monthly stipend to cover the tuition fee and cost of living, and the scholarship is awarded for three years (with set conditions).

In order to be eligble the scholarship, the PhD candidates should fulfill a number of criteria, amongst else that the projects should be written on the field of higher education policy in the Western Balkans – one with a focus on the relationship between higher education and regional development and the other focused on Europeanisation of higher education and research in the Western Balkans.

The call is open to citizens from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. The candidates are expected to be proficient in English and to be eligble for the scholarship programme, the dissertation work should also be written in English.
